Muse won two separate competitive tenders to work in partnership with the council: the first to develop five separate sites in Basing View; and the second to create a business class hotel in the western end of Basing View.

Basing View is a 65 acre business park in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Built predominately in the 1970s and '80s as the town’s main office location, the area is now set to undergo major redevelopment.

Building work is due to start, subject to planning permission, at the end of 2013.

The council has confirmed that it will commit £3.3m to deliver necessary infrastructure improvements, which have already begun with the demolition of two redundant buildings and landscaping.  The council has also earmarked a further £5m to help stimulate new development at the scheme.

Morgan Sindall Group chief executive Paul Smith said: "We are delighted that Muse has been named as Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's regeneration partner for the development of Basing View as a 21st century business destination and we look forward to working with the council on this exciting project."
