NCC wins £52.4m Swedish contract

21 Sep 11 NCC Construction Sweden has won a SEK 550 million (£52.4m) contract for new build and refurbishment at a mixed-use scheme in central Sundbyberg, Sweden.

Client Alecta is planning a new block featuring housing, offices, shopping, hotels and restaurants. The scheme will total about 36,000m2 gross area, of which about 18,000 will be newly constructed. The block Plåten, also known under the name Signalfabriken, currently consists of vacant industrial and office premises.

The project is scheduled for completion during autumn 2013.  The project is being conducted as a partnering contract with the client, consultants and contractor working together. The project will employ 150 to 200 people.
