New Atkins partnership offers predictions to decision-makers

29 Aug 12 Atkins has partnered with software company Zementis to deliver predictive analysis to the infrastructure industry.

Zementis specialises in predictive analytics solutions and its technology will be used by the partnership.

Atkins and Zementis are targetting government and private organisations that maintain large infrastructure systems such as water supply and wastewater collection systems, road networks, telecommunications, and ports. The partners said that the use of forecast models based on predictive analytics can enable infrastructure decision-makers to maximise the financial, environmental, and safety benefits of existing and proposed solutions, while ensuring and streamlining regulatory compliance.

"This collaboration represents a concrete step forward in providing infrastructure decision-makers with the full benefit of predictive analytics,” said Donna Huey, senior vice president and business sector manager of Atkins’ applied technologies group in North America. “The goal of combining our knowledge and experience with that of Zementis is to offer solutions to some of the most difficult challenges that infrastructure companies currently face.”

"Organizations are increasingly recognizing the value that predictive analytics can bring to their businesses,” said Zementis CEO Dr Michael Zeller. “It is our mission to lower the barrier of entry for such algorithms and enable our clients to take advantage of smart, real-time decisions in their day-to-day operations.”
