Mel Sowter is the company’s first ever female director. She has previously worked for Xylem Water Solutions, Westbury Homes and Leicester Royal Infirmary NHS Trust.
At J Tomlinson she is responsible for human resources and information technology support services as well as the books. Her position is a newly created post.
J Tomlinson expects to see its turnover rise to £67m in 2015, up from £54m in 2014.
