Norwegian and Finnish road wins for Skanska

In Norway, Skanska has been awarded the NOK585m (£66m) second phase of the E18 project in Bjørvika. Client for the work is the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Statens Vegvesen.

Skanska has recently finished the first phase of the project, which included a submerged tunnel under the Bjørvika cove. The second phase takes the E18 through central Oslo. The project, named Dronning Eufemias Gate, includes a 700m four-lane road. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2015.

In Finland, Skanska has won the €41 M (£36m) design and construction contract for the Sepänkylä bypass between Kotiranta, Vaasa, and Stormossen. Client for the scheme is the Finnish Transport Agency.

The project covers a 9km four-lane road section, including 13 exits and 10 bridges. The Sepänkylä bypass will be a part of Highway 8. Work will begin in September and is scheduled for completion in November 2014.
