The contract awarded by Abu Dhabi General Services PJSC (Musanada) covers some 3,980ha of previously undeveloped land, allocated for the construction of 12,460 villas, together with a central business district and various community facilities. The site is approximately 12km west of Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Parsons will be responsible for the project management consultancy for the development’s infrastructure, including roads, street lighting, road marking, signage, traffic signals, water distribution networks, reservoirs, pumping stations and wastewater collection networks. The work will also involve significant quantities of micro-tunnelling as well as power distribution networks, substations and storm drainage networks. Musanada is managing the delivery of the development to provide plots equipped with utilities ready for the future local housing development.
Musanada CEO H.E. Mohammed K. Al Mehairi said: “We are pleased to welcome Parsons to the Musanada family. The announcement of such a strategic partnership is a testament of our commitment to support the government in providing the people of Abu Dhabi with the best quality of life in line with its aim to become one of the top five governments of the world.”
Parsons regional president Guy Mehula said: “We have successfully delivered several landmark infrastructure projects in the UAE, and we are committed to making this project a success by combining the expertise of our people with the experience we’ve had as a company in the Emirates.”
