Ballyvesey is the parent company of several equipment dealers including Montana Plant, Norwest Plant, Scotia Plant and Southern Plant. Its companies own dealer franchises for Terex, Case, Bell, Doosan and Bobcat, among others.

As well as construction equipment sales and service and spare parts sales, the privately-owned group's main activities are concentrated in transport and logistics, truck sales and aftermarket support, trailer manufacturing, transport industry services, and more recently property development, management and investment.

Plantlink, based in Rainford, was set up by former Doosan UK managing director J J Hyung in 2006 as a regional distributor for Doosan Heavy. He will now leave the business but the majority of the staff at Plantlink, including sales manager Chris Proctor, will remain.

Dermot Cunnie, general manager of Ballyvesey’s Construction Equipment Division, said: “We are delighted that Chris and his colleagues at Rainford have transferred over and we are already benefiting from their wealth of knowledge and experience.  With this acquisition we have added the Doosan Heavy line of equipment to the Bobcat range sold by our trading subsidiary, Norwest Plant, which was appointed as the authorised Bobcat dealer for the region earlier this year.  The acquisition of Plantlink also adds to our existing Doosan and Bobcat dealerships at Montana Plant in Ireland and Scotia Plant in Scotland.”
