BAM Design was commissioned to undertake the BREEAM International assessment on Futura Park, a 44,000m² factory outlet and retail development on the outskirts of Krakow. It is BAM Design’s first international BREEAM rating commission.
The assessment was undertaken by BAM mechanical design engineer Vijay Shah on behalf of project manager Tebodin, which is acting for Spanish retail developer Neinver. Architect for the scheme was Asymetria and the contractor was Hochtief.
Explains, BAM Design director Steve Burford said: "Originally the project was set a target rating of ‘Good’ but with the expertise of BAM Design, and in particular Vijay, the client was able to gain further credits for the project by agreeing a strategy of cost effective investment in areas such as CSR, waste and energy.”
