Polypipe publishes water guide to code compliance

26 Jul 12 Polypipe has published a free guide to help construction industry professionals navigate their way through the water aspects of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Polypipe’s new Code Compliance brochure is a reference tool for customers working with the regulations as set down in the November 2010 Code for Sustainable Homes, and follows the success of Polypipe’s Code Compliance Kit which advised on the 2009 version of the Code.

The majority of new build housing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland now require a Code for Sustainable Homes assessment to satisfy funding or Local Authority sustainability policies.

Polypipe’s Code Compliance brochure explains how the Code applies to water usage and surface water run-off on new residential developments, what assessors are looking for and how they can comply with the various code level requirements.

Independent Code Assessor Steven Knight explains: “It can be difficult to keep fully up to date with the many changes to legislation which is why Polypipe’s straight-talking Code Compliance is an ideal resource for contractors, designers and developers. It sets out all of the key information they need to know on the surface water run-off and water use elements of the latest Code, plus useful details on compatible product systems and frequently asked questions, all in one place.”

Emma Thompson, marketing communications manager at Polypipe, added: “As manufacturers we do all we can to support our customers with their projects and following on from the popularity of our Code Compliance Kit outlining the water aspects of the 2009 version of the Code for Sustainable Homes, it made perfect sense to create a new version incorporating the latest changes to the code.”
