Pontypridd supermarket for Kier

2 Sep 11 Kier Western has started work on a £22m project to buld a new Sainsbury’s supermarket in Pontypridd.

The store will replace the former Brown Lenox chain works and will become a prominent landmark viewed from the A470.

Designed by Cardiff-based architects Stride Treglown, it is to be built on stilts, over car parking. Project manager is Davis Langdon.

Completion is scheduled for July 2012.

Stride Treglown director Gareth Davies said; “We’re delighted to be involved in bringing a brand new, state of the art Sainsbury’s store to Pontypridd. The town has great regeneration ambitions and we are sure that our sympathetic design supports this.”
