Mr Hodgson has worked for the association for more than 10 years, recently as general manager and previously as technical officer.
PCA chairman Les Meikle said: “This new designation more fully represents the aspirations of the association.”
The PCA is the UK trade body for the structural waterproofing, wood preservation, damp proofing, flood recovery, structural maintenance and invasive weed control sectors.
In recent years, Stephen has developed greater links with other property-related professional groups and helped play a key role in the trade body’s ongoing expansion.
Its members have aggregate annual revenues of more than £100m.
