Ramboll buys Finnish consultant

4 Nov 11 Ramboll has acquired all the shares in Magnus Malmberg Consulting Engineers, creating one of the largest structural engineering companies on the Finnish market.

As a result of the acquisition, Ramboll will employ 250 specialists within buildings and design in Finland.

Magnus Malmberg Consulting Engineers was founded in 1935 and currently employs 60 specialists in structural design. The company's main service is structural engineering design for industrial, commercial, office and public buildings, including relating activities. "In Finland, Ramboll is already a market leader in the areas of infrastructure and transport, and environment and nature,” said Ramboll managing director in Finland Markku Moilanen. “With Magnus Malmberg Consulting Engineers joining Ramboll, we realise our strategy of becoming one of the leading players in Finland within structural engineering. Ramboll already has a very strong position in this area in other Nordic countries."

Managing director of Magnus Malmberg Consulting Engineers Tapio Aho said: "Joining a multi-disciplinary company like Ramboll will give Magnus Malmberg Consulting Engineers new possibilities for providing our customers with even more comprehensive designs. This unification will strengthen our ability to participate in the planning of major construction projects. Also, Ramboll is an international company, which will offer new career options for our people.”
