The changes, first announced in March 2011, include revisions to previous firm indices, additional repair and maintenance series, a longer run of historical indices (back to 1955 in most cases), and publication of index figures to one decimal place.
Going forward, indices will be held provisional for four quarters.
This change is the latest in a series which follow on from changes made by ONS in construction output statistics, and improved output deflators developed by the Building Cost Information Service (BCIS).
