Sheffield recruitment firm buys Leeds company

28 Sep 11 Sheffield-based recruitment company, Linear, has continued to invest in ongoing expansion with the acquisition of Leeds-based recruitment company, Javelin, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will enable the £17 million turnover company to expand its existing Leeds offering and will see all the staff move across from Javelin to the Linear team in Leeds with immediate effect.  The acquisition of the £2 million turnover company includes taking on the existing 110 temporary workers and a diverse client base and will create a new division in Leeds that will be known as Linear Industrial.

Linear’s Sheffield-based industrial director, Rhian Balshaw, will take management responsibility of the new division which will continue to be run by the incumbent operations manager, Sian Williams.

Comments Rhian: “We already have a successful industrial division operating out of our Sheffield, Milton Keynes and Walsall offices and this acquisition provides an excellent opportunity to extend this into West Yorkshire with proven professionals, an established client-base and an excellent pool of candidates. The new division in Leeds will complement the existing construction division already offered from this office and we will build on this new team to help drive further expansion.”
