Shell contracts for Carillion

17 Dec 13 Carillion has been selected by oil giant Shell for a global framework agreement covering facilities management services.

Initial awards under the framework include three facilities management contracts in the UK, Qatar and Dubai. The contracts follow Carillion's 2012 success in the Middle East with Petroleum Development Oman – a joint venture of which Shell is part.

Carillion will provide a range of services, including hard and soft facilities management to a range of assets in all countries.

Carillion chief executive Richard Howson said: "We are pleased to have been selected for these contracts. I believe this reflects the quality of our support services offering. We look forward to working with Shell to deliver high-quality services for its property estates and operations."

Carillion has begun operations in all three locations - in September 2013 Qatar went live, in October 2013 UK facilities came on stream and in November 2013 properties in Dubai were added to the portfolio. Potential contract terms are between three and eight years.
