Skanska has a US$149m share of the contract for the US Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest.
The project includes construction of the wharf, wharf cover, warping wharf and approach trestle connecting the wharf to the shore. Additional elements include a wharf support building, lightning towers, supporting facilities and utilities and two overhead crane.
The facility will be situated along the east coastline of Hood Canal. The team estimates that the project will create approximately 100 construction-related jobs. Work will begin immediately with scheduled completion in January 2016.
