Solihull seeks building partner for £400m deal

13 Jul 12 Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking to form a partnership with a building contractor for up to 10 years in a deal that could be worth as much as £400m.

The council has published a contract notice for building construction, repair and maintenance work. It is seeking a framework deal with a single contractor for an initial seven years plus an option for a three-year extension.

The framework is also available to neighbouring councils of Coventry, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Stratford-on-Avon and Warwickshire County Council, as well as to three school sin the region

The planned, reactive and project works will include redecoration, plastering, roofing, window replacement, flooring, landscaping, plumbing, brickwork and other associated general building trades. The work will be carried out on public buildings, such as domestic, corporate, educational, commercial and light industrial portfolio of properties. Tenderers will have a proven track record of providing this range of works on public buildings, and hold similar partnering contracts of this value in their current portfolio.
