Stepnell completes Banbury listed building refurbishment

18 Jan 12 Two-storey refurbishment in Horsefair provides smart new office accommodation in town

Construction company Stepnell has completed the refurbishment of a Grade II listed building in Banbury, Oxfordshire, for property investment company Jelmac Estates Ltd.

Stepnell’s specialist maintenance team carried out a substantial upgrade and refurbishment of the two-storey, 18th century building in Horsefair, Banbury, to create modern office accommodation. The improvements included the reinstatement of period features including doors, cornices, window shutters, skirting boards and picture rails. The building benefitted from a new condensing boiler together with new radiators and low-energy light fittings. Stepnell redecorated the net internal 1,918 sq ft  premises internally and externally in period and corporate colours to the approval of the new tenant, addressing all the internal and external renovation work to the approval of the Conservation Officer.

“Our specialist maintenance team worked closely with Jelmac Estates Ltd and Cherwell District Council to sympathetically restore and transform this period property to a high standard and create desirable office accommodation in Banbury,” says Stepnell managing director Mark Wakeford.
