He joins from consulting engineer Gifford where he was sustainability director.
In his new role, Mr Irwin will head up building services design and delivery and the implementation of sustainability solutions and innovation across the Stepnell business. He is based at the company’s head office in Rugby, Warwickshire.
Mr Irwin began his career as a mechanical design engineer with Arup after completing a BEng (Hons) in Environmental Engineering. He has also worked as sustainability director for building services consultants Foreman Roberts. He is a member of the British Council for Offices’ environmental sustainability group and regularly works with the Technology Strategy Board.
