Strabag lands €150m Oman contract

21 Oct 11 Strabag Oman has won a €150m (£130.8m) contract to build roads and infrastructure at Duqm Port in Oman.

The contract awarded by the Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Sultanate of Oman includes the establishment of shipyard access, docks and warehouses as well as the construction of six-, four-, and two-lane expressways. Strabag has also been commissioned to build drinking water and fire fighting water lines, wastewater and irrigation systems and the electricity and telecommunications infrastructure.

As a regionally broadly positioned construction group, we offer our know-how for technically demanding projects outside of Europe too,” said Strabag CEO Dr Hans Peter Haselsteiner “Last year, we generated €111 million in Oman.”
