TVE now has 26 machines, including 5-tonne EC15Bs, 2.5-tonne EC25s and the larger 5.5-tonne EC55.
The new EC17C units, which are 1.7-tonners, have been supplied by local dealer SM Plant Sales with canopies, a full set of buckets and e-touch immobiliser systems.
Co-owner Matt Jones said: “We appraised the market to evaluate what was available since we needed to increase our fleet and replace a couple of older units, but at the end of the day the overall package and a good financial deal from Volvo has kept us on board with the product.”
The Volvo EC17C is a direct replacement for the EC15B XT model. Powered by a 12.3 Kw (16.8hp) engine, the machine has automatic two-speed travel. On the new models the hydraulic hoses for the digging equipment are now routed through the boom and cylinders are top-mounted to minimise on-site damage.
