University of Strathclyde framework appoints Clark Contracts

23 Nov 11 The University of Strathclyde has appointed Clark Contracts to its framework for minor construction works.

Clark Contracts is one of three contractors appointed to the framework covering capital projects and maintenance, as well as minor electrical and mechanical works.  Total net value of the contracts under this framework is £12m over 4 years with individual contract values ranging from £10,000 to £500,000.

This latest contract underlines the highly successful track record of Clark Contracts in securing work in the further and higher education sector.  The company has also worked for a wide variety of other universities, colleges and education authorities, including eight of the nine universities in the central belt of Scotland.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said, "The work we will undertake through this framework allows us the opportunity to develop further our growing track record in the further and higher education sector, as well as extend our relationship with the University of Strathclyde."

Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown to employ over 200 staff at offices in Paisley, covering the West of Scotland, and Edinburgh, covering the East. Over 80% of the company's work is repeat business and six out of ten customers have worked with Clark Contracts for five years or more.
