Wynne builds new school in Caernarfon

26 Nov 10 Welsh contractor Wynne Construction has been awarded a £9.3m contract to build a new school at Ysgol Yr Hendre in Caernarfon for Gwynedd County Council.

The award brings the total new orders for Wynne Construction from January to £21m, compared with £9m in 2009, bucking the economic downturn.

Chris Wynne said: “We are delighted to have secured this new contract for Gwynedd County Council which further strengthens our education portfolio and will secure employment for our existing workforce and provide up to 40 local jobs at its peak."

This new school, set to open in 2012, has been funded with the help of a £4.3m Strategic Capital Investment Framework grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.
