Not only did Bauma 2013 break all previous records for exhibitor numbers and exhibition space, it also attracted the highest number of visitors ever.

Our contact from the show Sabine, emailed me this afternoon to explain a very impressive 530,000 visitors from more than 200 countries attended the München exhibition centre.

In total, 3,420 exhibitors (1,346 from Germany, 2,074 abroad) came from 57 countries to presented their latest products to the construction and mining machinery visitors, spread over a record exhibition space of  some 570,000 square meters.

With more than 200,000 visitors from outside Germany the 'Top Ten' visitor countries were:  Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, France, Netherlands, 8th for Great Britain, Sweden and then Poland.

Stefan Heissler, from Liebherr-International, said "This has been an absolutely positive trade show for us. We welcomed customers from all around the world at our booths and we signed up lots of new orders. One such order was Hire firm Weldex, which placed an order totalling £17m . I have already arranged to test out some of the new Liebherr excavators bought at the show!

Commenting on the success of Bauma 2013 for XCMG (leading construction machinery manufacturer and provider in China), its Vice President, Yanmei Zhang said: "XCMG solicited orders with a total value of over 10 million euros, which is around 120 units of machines.”
