Job Overview
Senior Clerk of Works job based in Manchester, supporting new build projects across the surrounding region. This role is suited to an experienced Clerk of Works with essential high-rise construction experience, strong technical inspection knowledge and the ability to lead inspection services. You will supervise other Clerks of Works, manage several projects, maintain client relationships and ensure workmanship and materials meet required quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead Clerk of Works services across new build projects
Manage and supervise other Clerks of Works
Act as principal client contact for construction quality
Complete inspection records, photographs and required reporting
Identify defects, snags and workmanship quality issues
You will also support team development, including training colleagues and delivering relevant in-house CPD. Responsibilities include managing allocated client accounts and independently coordinating inspection services across multiple projects.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous Clerk of Works experience on high-rise projects
Extensive knowledge of building materials and construction methods
Strong defect identification and snagging skills
Excellent organisation, communication and negotiation skills
Proficient with IT systems and inspection technology
You must be confident working independently within active construction environments and maintaining an impartial approach to quality inspections. ICWCI membership is desirable, or you should be willing to work towards appropriate membership.
