There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Kent Division is looking to recruit a Finance Apprentice to join the Division’s Finance team. The Role You will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship, which includes AAT. This role reports to the Management Accountant. Principle accountabilities of the role include: Process Purchase Ledger invoices/credit notes on Great Plains (GP). Responsible for addressing and resolving all invoice supplier queries. Monthly supplier reconciliations with Great Plains. Process staff expenses as part of the Purchase ledger. Run weekly Cheque Requisitions and any urgent payment requests. Liaise with Councils tax authorities, Utility department on outstanding utility bills for the different plots and sites. Request Supplier Statements and reconcile them with Great Plains (GP). Responsible for filing and housekeeping of supplier invoices. Responsible for petty cash and exercise finance controls. Process management Journals as required. Assist with all other duties and cover in the finance department. Use of windows software and Great Plains finance, and Bellway IT systems. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Experience of working within a finance or purchase ledger role is desirable. Qualifications and Training GCSE Maths and English – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) A-Level Maths is desirable. Skills and Aptitude Excellent administration and organisation skills Strong communication and listening skills Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Ability to work on own as well as part of a team Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
