Strategic Purchasing Assistant

Breedon are currently seeking a Strategic Purchasing Assistant based at our Hope Site in Derbyshire. The role will support the Group Head of strategic purchasing and the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the energy portfolio, including but not limited to electricity, gas, carbon and water.
  • You will assist on data gathering internally to assist with the preparation of tender documentation for issuing to suppliers.
  • You will issue and manage supplier questions within the tender process.
  • You will manage responses and prepare reports on comparing the tender submissions.
  • Upon contract completion you will manage the signing of agreements then maintaining master document records.
  • Upon supplier commencement you will assist with contract management by managing KPI's and keeping accurate records to assist with contracts being managed as required by the business.
  • Amend legal and non-legal documents for both internal and external correspondence.
  • You will ensure that the data is complete and accurate or resolve discrepancies before providing the business dashboards.
  • Addressing and escalating supplier performance issues where appropriate.
  • Arranging travel and transportation and other PA related administration.
  • Undertaking research in line with manager's projects and reports.
  • Minute taking and copy typing to a high standard.
  • Assisting the Head of Strategic Purchasing as required.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree or 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience of data management, analysis and reporting is essential, however experience of this within the energy sector would be an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Trustworthy and able to ensure the highest level of confidentiality
  • Strong power point presentation, report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under tight timescales, prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute actively to work in partnership with key stakeholders
