CAD Technician / Designer - timber panel systems
Central London
£22-30,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking a CAD Designer / Architectural Technician for a manufacturer of specialist prefabricated timber panels, working at the design stage of a diverse range of projects, including schools, residential, commercial and public buildings. Their team provides expertise in cross-laminated timber construction from design concept to on-site completion; their collaborative working approach with the whole project team enables them to develop sustainable and cost effective structural solutions when involved at the earliest stages of the design process. They provide a solution that is second to none, and their projects are always a little different and quirky as you would expect from CLT projects.
You must have good experience in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, producing CAD drawings (3D AutoCAD an advantage) for manufacture (timber frame, SIPS, glulam, CLT etc). Strong co-operation and team working is an important part of this role and you will therefore need to demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively with your colleagues and other stakeholders involved in the projects.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of innovative projects, where every job is that little bit different, and projects continue to provide interesting challenges for their Design team.
You will be in a great working environment, closer to that of an Architects' practise rather than a construction company and in a relaxed yet business-like atmosphere and a strong focus on its people. There are very few lines of demarcation and your ideas will count. The offices themselves are in a central London location convenient for mainline rail and tube links.
