Job Title: Commercial Manager
Sector: Offsite Construction - Modular
Location: Hull
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
- Are you a commercial manager with experience of Modular Building contracts?
- Would you enjoy a challenging role over seeing a ten strong commercial team?
You will be joining a leading player in the modular construction sector, working on permanent modular new builds across education, healthcare and retail sectors. Using your background in Quantity Surveying, you will take lead on contract negotiations for large projects whilst overseeing the work of Quantity Surveyors in your team.
A strong and inclusive team culture awaits you in a business with very low staff turnover and senior directors who take a real interest in the well-being and progression of their people. Whilst predominantly office based, you can expect some business travel to attend site and client meetings as required. This role reports to the divisional director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, control and mitigate risk
- Team leadership of the commercial department
- Take a lead in sub contract procurement activities
- Work closely with head of design and operations on risk management and target programmes
- Manage the introduction of new ERP system
- Ensure contractual compliance across your division
- Ensure smooth handover of estimating and sales documents into live projects
The successful candidate will have developed skills and/or qualifications in these areas:
- A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- Risk mitigation and control plans
- Contract law and proficient in JCT, NEC and Bespoke contracts
- Strong forecasting skills - profitability, turnover, cash
- A team player, leader and influencer
