Land and Mineral Resources Manager - Wales & Southern Regions

Flexible location - Competitive salary plus company vehicle. Applicants must be willing to travel across the UK.

Breedon is a leading constructions materials group in Great Britain and Ireland, with around 1 billion tonnes of mineral reserves and resources. Breedon have a strong growth strategy; we have significantly expanded in 2020 with the completion of the Cemex acquisition, delivering an additional 170 million tonnes of mineral reserves.

We are seeking a Land and Mineral Resources Manager who is enthusiastic and committed to continuous improvement. This individual will join our L&MR team and will be responsible for our Wales & South region, the team are based at Breedon on the Hill, however base location can be flexible for the successful candidate.

Reporting into the Regional Land and Mineral Resources Manager, we are looking for an individual with the ability to influence and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be people focused, with excellent attention to detail and the drive to make it happen.

Your key responsibilities, achieved via coordination and liaison with external consultants or contractors are to:

  • Develop the companies organic mineral replenishment strategy.
  • Maintain Breedon's licence to operate in a sustainable, cost effective and sustainable manner.
  • Manage and ensure compliance of all planning permissions.
  • Management of property agreements and associated occupation costs, including the payment and review of rents and royalties.
  • Coordinate and liase with external consultants and contractors, to produce surveys studies and reports as necessary.

About you

  • It is essential you have or are working towards a Chartered Geologist/Planner/Surveyor qualification, ideally a degree level qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in the extractives industry.
