Project Manager needed in Finchley

Job Description

Barker Ross are working on behalf a of a growing North London based Real Estate business who are looking for an energetic and ambitious individual to join its development team. The individual will be required to oversee commercial matters on multiple projects at a time, acting as commercial lead on site and liaising with the wider team as necessary. The group has substantial existing projects in the City and a strong pipeline of development projects across the region.

The client is seeking a candidate on a temporary to permanent basis. (3 months temporary).

As the successful candidate in this competition, you will initially be responsible for taking over an existing project, the development of a care home project and then move on to work on a further 6-10 developments in the next 12-18 months. On top of this, my client has recently purchased a portfolio of 21 properties from a public-sector body which they are looking to refurbish and/or redevelop.

You will act as a client-side representative, moving the existing project through from RIBA Stage 4 , partnering with the architects and design team and taking a lead on project management with the contractors on site. You will also chair and minute site and design meetings, be able to read and interpret technical drawings, take on elements of QS work as and when required and work with the Contract Administrator to ensure cost plans are effectively updated and monitored as your project(s) progress.

You will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or development projects, preferably recently acting as a client representative, though a background working for a contractor would be beneficial, either as a site QS/PM or site manager. MRICS or MCIOB is not a requirement for this position, but candidates possessing chartership are encouraged to apply. You will have strong technical knowledge of full lifecycle development, undertaking the role of both a Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.

You will be paid a competitive daily rate during the temporary contract and should your trial period be successful, you will be made a permanent member of staff.
