Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Process Engineer to focus on optimising our production processes. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in leading continuous improvement, monitoring standards with a lense always on health and safety. If you have experience working in a Cement plant or comparable experience with knowledge of statistical process control methods and experimental design, this could be a great career opportunity at our Cookstown plant. About the role You will assign tasks only according required/necessary competencies of the workers (employees/contractors), provide technical guidance, organise/deliver training as well as conduct risk assessments and intervene where unsafe situations or behaviours are witnessed, following up with the appropriate actions. ​Other elements to the role include: Tracking key process parameters used to optimise performance as well as process data and to regularly monitor the parameters relating to plant operation Ensuring that technical surveys performed on the process are relevant and adequate (heat balance, process audits, airflow, temperature and pressure measurements, etc) Making recommendations concerning the modifications to be made on various control parameters or on the process Ensuring the site complies with all Regulatory Requirements Identifying power reduction projects and continually improve & optimise the plant to reduce power, ultimately striving for the plant to achieve the lowest possible power consumption Optimising fuel consumption and prioritise the increased use of Alternative Fuel (AF`s) & Alternative Raw Materials (ARM’s) to deliver cost reductions Supporting Production, Maintenance and Reliability colleagues providing “expert” advice in process related issues. Defining instructions and procedures concerning process key parameters and to inform and train operational staff and advise on plant operating techniques (in conjunction with the Production Department). Participating in process studies and audits and linking with technical centres for process issues, providing process enginnering input to capital projects Developing and utilising IT tools to facilitate process management. Maintaining and improving Health Safety and Environmental standards appropriate to this role ​What will you bring? Experience working in a Cement Plant or comparable industry Strong IT skills. In particular, proficient in the use of PI and Microsoft Office packages. PID control tuning, High Level Control optimisation. Ability to measure key process parameters on a production site. Knowledge of the physico-chemical products Some familiarity with Cement plant parameters in respect of process and quality Knowledge of statistical process control methods and experimental design Ability to prepare clear and concise written and oral reports Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to identify and prioritize requirements What’s on offer?
