Based in Birmingham, our esteemed and well-established client offers national coverage, delivering Quantity Surveying and Project Management construction services from scheme inception through to completion.
Renowned for fostering long-lasting relationships with reputable brands and industry leaders, our client boasts decades of experience in delivering quality-driven projects across the hospitality, leisure, industrial, residential, commercial, and refurbishment sectors.
ROLE
As a construction Project Manager in Birmingham, you will take a hands-on approach to deliver engaging projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered within budget, on time, and meet the client's requirements.
Additionally, you will benefit from a collaborative working environment, sharing resources and expertise with neighbouring regions and offices. This approach promotes a varied workload, working with highly reputable clients, brands, and sector leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Project Manager, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Managing construction projects (depending on size and complexity) from inception to completion, with full support from Senior Management.
• Ensuring all projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the client's requirements, including regular site visits and inspections.
• Efficiently managing multi-disciplined project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, in a collaborative manner.
• Developing project management strategies, including planning, programming, and scheduling, to monitor project progress.
• Identifying and mitigating risks and challenges, creating and implementing contingency plans as necessary.
• Monitoring project budgets and tracking expenditures using cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining and building relationships with clients, stakeholders, project teams, and the supply chain to provide exceptional service.
• Ensuring compliance with construction health and safety regulations, relevant legal and industry standards, and contractual agreements.
PERSON
The ideal Project Manager candidate will demonstrate:
• A construction-related degree (or equivalent).
• A proven track record as a Project Manager in a consultancy, client-side, or hospitality-focused environment, with ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• A strong understanding of standard construction project management processes and documentation across all RIBA stages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop, build and maintain strong relationships.
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience with JCT and/or NEC Contracts.
