Catfoss Recruitment Ltd are currently in partnership with a globally respected international client who design, manufacture, install and commission a range of industrial thermal process equipment.

They are looking to recruit a Field Service Manager on a permanent basis.

Field Service Manager - GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Our broad range of products are used by well-known customers and organisations across FMCG, food, chemical, metal, pharmaceutical and public sector organisations.

Comprehensive after-sales support has always been central to our ethos. Our customers need to be confident their investment is backed-up by a nationwide network of highly trained field Service Engineers and the expertise of our qualified Head Office staff.

Field Service Manager - ACTIVITIES

Reporting to the Service Division Manager, the Field Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of our team of approximately 18 Service Engineers to maintain an effective and timely field service capability. The Team is home-based with coverage being UK wide.

This is an engineering management role that will require the correct candidate to exercise initiative, technical judgement, commercial acumen, organisational skills and team management. Although primarily based at our Hertfordshire office, there will be some need for site visits to meet customers and to support our UK wide based Service Engineers.

The candidate must be able to work effectively without close supervision and must possess good organisational skills. Effective communication skills and the ability to prepare clear and precise reports and correspondence is essential.

This is a demanding and rewarding job, which will allow the successful candidate to develop. Flexibility will be necessary to meet the challenge of satisfying demanding customers in difficult circumstances.

Field Service Manager - THE CANDIDATE

The role primarily requires the day-to-day management of the Service Engineering Team in terms of managing performance, supporting on technical issues, dealing with health and safety and with sickness absence.

The role will suit a mechanical, electrical or chemical engineer, qualified to Bachelor's degree or HNC/D standard with industry experience in people management.

The Candidate will need to reside within daily commuting distance of our Hertfordshire office.
