Hope Works Derbyshire, Hope Valley S33 6RP

Permanent position

Breedon are currently seeking a Maintenance Operator to join our skilled personnel working within the maintenance teams at Hope Cement Works in Derbyshire.

Key responsibilities:

Plant Maintenance:

  • LEV/filtration Inspection, reporting and maintenance.
  • Supporting skilled maintenance teams both proactively and at times reactively inclusive of major repairs.
  • Execution of Plant lubrication schedules inclusive of sampling, repairs and improvements.
  • Conveyor inspection and maintenance.
  • Working in partnership with contractor support when required
  • Supporting external Inspection engineers / auditors with respect to statuary inspections & audits

IT Literacy

  • Updating information via SAP / Assure/ Opralog so as to capture relevant information & maintenance history e.g. inputting and completion of work requests / pm strategies etc.
  • Competent using handheld technology e.g. tablet computer.
  • Physical stores support
  • Booking out of parts to Work Orders, preparation of parts / goods ready for schedules
  • Safe disposal of packaging, scrap & waste.

Environment

  • Monitor performance of LEV/filtration systems and act accordingly.
  • Work to actively improve our workplace.
  • Use & Maintain COSHH assessments.
  • Play your part in continually improving our housekeeping standards.

Safety

  • Actively take responsibility of your safety and the safety of others
  • Use & Maintain risk assessments / method statements
  • Complete dynamic STOP point of work assessments
  • raise safety observations and act to resolve when possible
  • Participate and engage in toolbox talks

Qualifications/skills/experience required:

Plant Maintenance

  • Has completed an Apprenticeship or can demonstrate alternative semi-skilled training.
  • FLT /MEWP/Overhead crane/slinging & rigging
  • Introduction to cement manufacturing
  • Cement plant equipment foundation

Lubrication

  • BINDT Lubrication level 1 or similar

Filtration

  • P600 Methods for Testing Performance of LEV

Environmental

  • Environmental Awareness Training
  • Waste duty of care training
  • Duty of Care Controlled Waste and Hazardous Waste paperwork completion
  • COSHH

Health & Safety

  • IOSH Working safely
  • ISO Standards (Basics)
  • Assure EHS software
  • Face Fit
  • Manual handling training
  • RAMS / STOP /ASSURE training
  • LOTOTO
  • Relevant experience working in heavy industry
  • Maintenance practical skills
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, including SAP, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Handheld technology etc.
  • Verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of:

  • LEV & Filtration systems
  • Cement plant & maintenance processes
  • Lubrication plant & systems
  • Conveying systems
