Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative individual to join our Laboratory team based at our our Cauldon Cement plant located in the Staffordshire Moorlands. As one of our Laboratory Process Operators, you will be responsible for conducting both routine and non-routine sampling and testing, whilst providing technical and material advice for a business that are at the frontline of the construction. About the role Laboratory Process Operators work as part of a team ensuring accurate analysis within the statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety,Health and Environmental Standards. The role will involve regular testing and analysis of samples including final product, fuels, raw materials and any additional materials required. As a successful candidate, you must be able to understand and communicate the results obtained and take responsibility for ensuring all testing of cements are met to the required standards. Job Objectives To collect and test samples according to EN and Lafarge standards To assist with the day-to-day operations of the Cauldon Laboratory To ensure all customer requests are dealt with in a timely fashion General cleaning, safety and housekeeping duties First line maintenance and calibration duties on laboratory equipment What will you bring? A good standard of both numeracy and literacy skills A thorough grasp of health & safety principles and fundamentals Strong communication skills both written and verbal An understanding of the cement manufacturing process Computer/IT literate with ability to operate most standard systems Good knowledge and appreciation of science Sampling, physical testing and chemical analysis What’s on offer?
