Forensic Mechanical Engineer

The successful Mechanical Expert will be involved in working with the directors to grow and maintain their current business within the engineering industry, consulting with their clients to create great brand loyalty and ultimately complete outstanding expert witness reports for new and existing clients.

With a need to grow the Engineering Division we want to welcome a highly skilled Forensic Mechanical Engineer to join our team

The ideal Forensic Mechanical Engineer will have the following duties and responsibility;

You will be willing to take on immediate responsibility Involving site visits, document review and ultimately the production of expert reports that will be used to aid clients, their legal representatives or the court in matters relating to electronics and electrical engineering. This will include:

    Advising in relation to compliance with current legislative requirements, best practice and fitness for purpose;
    Conducting site inspections and practical investigations of Mechanical failures of products, equipment and machinery to understand and advise on any related failure within the building services industry; Presenting all findings in a report and, in some cases, attending court to provide your opinions in person.

The quality of outputs will determine opportunities for future progression for the candidate.

Ideally the candidate will have a diverse background, but the most important thing is to have a problem-solving mindset. This is because they will sometimes need to look at things they are not immediately familiar with, but which they can find a solution to through research based on the experience they do have.

The Candidate

As the successful Forensic Mechanical Engineer you must have significant experience in the following;

Essential Experience

    8+ year(s) experience in professional environment related to expert witness services ideally within the building services industry Chartered Mechanical Engineer Extremely successful and well known expert within the Mechanical Engineering Environment Have attained a good honours degree in mechanical engineering. Have an aptitude and enthusiasm for problem solving. Be self-motivated and be able to work effectively under pressure. Have experience of undertaking engineering type investigations and be familiar with health and safety regulations and guidance relating to the workplace. Have a practical engineering ability in addition to a strong academic record. Have the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing, to others less informed than yourself. Be prepared to work unpredictable hours, as and where the work demands. Be prepared to provide expert witness evidence in Court when required.
