Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in Chorley, Lancashire
Senior Quantity Surveyor job based in Chorley, Lancashire for a Top 10, Five-Star Housebuilder. Great opportunity to join a reputable and award-winning housebuilder with scope to progress. The role will be full life cycle from initial budgets right through to final sign-off of accounts working on 3-4 sites at different stages across the Northwest Region. They are looking for an established Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor and the role offers a salary of up to £55k + £5700 Car Allowance, Bonus, Remote Working and a comprehensive benefits package.
They have built 100,000 homes in the last 50 years across England and Wales and have just been awarded a five-star rating for customer satisfaction again in 2021. They provide homes from the North to the South Coast and across to Wales. This role will be joining their commercial team of 11 be considered for the role you must have experience working for a housebuilder with full life cycle quantity surveying experience from initial budgets through to final accounts.
Role & Responsibilities
- With support from Commercial Manager / Chief Quantity Surveyor, prepare subcontract Enquiry List for approval by Head of Commercial, Head of Construction and Head of Customer Services
- Prepare tender packs
- Tender analysis and recommendations
- Prepare detailed breakdown of build cost included within land acquisition pack
- Issue a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire to all new subcontractors and update for existing
- Compile sub-contract Order, issue for contractor to sign and ensure order is returned prior to work commencing
- Attend pre-start meeting, handover completed procurement pack to site team
- Draft Customer Extras Sheet
- Ensure sub-contractor weekly and monthly applications for payment are analysed and checked
- Issue payless notices
- Prepare interim payments for approval by Commercial Lead
- Draft Budget estimate summary for approval by Commercial Lead
- Issue contra-charges as appropriate.
- Keep Payment Record Sheets up to date following completion of each weekly and monthly payment run
- Highlight claims for additional works outside Budget Estimate Summary and report to Commercial Lead
- Produce Value/Cost Reconciliation (VCR)
- Prepare Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes on VCR report
- Report/Present on VCR Site(s) at monthly CVC meetings
- Settle all Final Accounts expediently after works complete
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ Years' experience in Quantity Surveyor
- Must have experience working for a housebuilder
- Must have experience pre-contract through to final accounts including budgets
- Driving Licence and own car
