Job Description

We have some brand new and exciting opportunities within our procurement function as we look to expand the skillset of our highly valued procurement team, following on from some significant successes in the last financial year. One opportunity within our expanding team is for an experienced Category Buyer to join our procurement team at our Bardon Hill Head office. About the role Within this role you will be ensuring compliance with agreed processes and procedures for purchasing of goods and services. You will be the internal expert of procurement systems assisting business users where necessary in the effective use of the systems. Other elements to the role include: Control the issuing of Purchase Orders Review requisitions against standard rules Identify appropriate purchase route for delivery of service / goods to include supplier selection and commercial terms / payment method Approve and release purchase orders Tender management Management of tender activity in a timely manner (in conjunction with AI Group Procurement where required) ensuring effective communication with stakeholders is maintained throughout Catalogue maintenance Management of supplier catalogues in conjunction with AI Group Procurement ensuring all catalogue content is correct and covers required spend areas Contract management Centralisation and management of all AI contracts outside of national contracts Approval of contracts to be undertaken by Head of Procurement or appropriate Legal Director Achieve strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers Monitor and deliver added value saving initiatives that support the attainment of department/business objectives Identify all opportunities to progressively rationalise and reduce the total number of suppliers to an optimum level Internal expert of procurement systems assisting business users where necessary in effective use of the systems ​ What will you bring?
