Group Accountant & Treasury Manager

Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit a Group Accountant & Treasury Manager to join the Group Finance Department. The Role The role of Group Accountant & Treasury Manager will report to the Group Finance Manager. Principal accountabilities of the role include: Responsible for the Group’s day to day treasury activities including cashflow forecasting, bank mandate administration, facility requirements and treasury reporting Assist in the management of Group bank relationships and facilities, including covenant reporting, quarterly updates, refinancing, renewals and bank charges Review of monthly interest expense and accruals Preparation of the group consolidated accounts including review of all sections of the annual report Review of half-year and year end group consolidated financial information including consolidation adjustments Consolidation, review and analysis of divisional information Communicating with external auditors and managing the year-end audit process Liaising with other external advisors Reviewing and enhancing the Group’s systems and controls Assisting the Group Finance Manager in group-wide finance projects Working alongside a team of 5 to manage the month end close process for some head office entities including prepayments, accruals, maintaining the fixed asset register, balance sheet reconciliations and other required journals Preparation and management of the budget and forecast for some head office entities requiring liaison with cost centre owners across the business Preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting schedules and commentary for some head office entities Producing other ad-hoc financial reports for management Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience A Big 4 trained accountant is desirable Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with strict reporting deadlines Experience of working with listed clients is desirable Experience of working with construction or housebuilding is desirable Treasury experience is desirable Qualifications and Training ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Skills and Aptitude Sound communication and listening skills IT literate, with high proficiency in Excel and the ability to adapt to new systems Good administration skills Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team Confident communicating information to non-financial employees and senior stakeholders Proactive attitude to problem solving and willingness to undertake work of all levels Committed to diversity and inclusion The Role and Working Conditions Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked Office based role with ad hoc travel as and when required In return we can offer you: Competitive salary Competitive annual bonus 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays Contributory pension scheme Life assurance We reserve the right to close this vacancy if a large volume of applications are received.
