John Foster has joined Bowmer & Kirkland from Wates to drive a re-think in how the company exploits data.
As business improvement director he is tasked with leading on digital transformation, analysing current processes across Bowmer & Kirkland’s construction projects and operations. He is expected to use insight obtained from data analysis to devise and implement a digitalisation strategy for the business to increase productivity and help grow the business.
Foster was previously national pre-construction director at Wates, where he worked for 12 years. Based in the northwest, he has also previously worked for Willmott Dixon, Morgan Sindall, Rok and Pochin, mostly in estimating and bid managing.
“I am looking forward to playing a key part in the digital evolution of B+K,” he said of his new job. “My priority will be to thoroughly understand the business from the ground up, reviewing current processes and getting to know the people that make it all happen.
“Digital transformation in construction isn’t about creating more data and workload, it’s about improving lives: reducing wasted effort, unlocking insights, and giving people back their time.”
