Site cleared for Croydon school rebuild

The Quest Academy – Coloma Trust is being rebuilt on the site of its former sports hall, which has now been pulled down.

Construction of the new facility will now begin alongside the existing school building. This will also be demolished on completion of the work and replaced with an athletics track.

The project will also accommodate a 215-capacity sixth form and new community facilities for Monks Hill sports centre.

Completion of the building works is scheduled for the new academic year in September 2014 following a 59-week build programme.

Designed by CPMG Architects, the rebuild is using Wates’ Adapt school building model, which claims a 21% reduction in build programme and 23% cost savings against typical school buildings.
