Skanska picked for Stockholm airport hotel

Skanska is to build what will be the largest airport hotel in any of the Nordic countries.

It has signed a contract with Swedavia to build a 503-room hotel at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm, Sweden, under a contract worth about SEK710m (£64.5m).

The hotel will have an area of 20,000m2 spread over 14 floors. It will feature a combined lobby and lounge, restaurant, bar and conservatory.

The hotel will be run by Nordic Choice Hotels, which previously established the Clarion Hotel at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The building will be certified according to the BREEAM environmental certification system.

Construction commences in August 2017 and the project is scheduled to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2019.
