Wates agrees £6m PPE deal

Construction group Wates is set to spend £6m a year on personal protective equipment (PPE) after agreeing a three-year supply deal with Arco.

Wates has more than 4,000 employees and more than 10,000 supply chain operatives and partners. It will spend an estimated £2m a year with Arco to provide them with the necessary PPE.

John Dunne, group safety, health, environment & quality director at Wates, said: “Wates has a wide remit within the built-environment sector and has a duty of care to protect all employees from harm. We have made a commitment to Zero Harm by 2020 across all our businesses. Working with leading suppliers like Arco will help us to safeguard our employees with clothing and equipment which will protect them during the working day.”
