BAE’s Central Training Facility will house a teaching block with reception, classrooms and offices. The development will also include a central ‘street’ with welfare facilities, craft workshops, changing rooms and a restaurant.
Wates recently completed the new Resolution Building for BAE, the first new-build in the Barrow shipyard’s redevelopment programme.
Wates regional managing director Phil Harrison said: “Having started my working life as a shipbuilding apprentice in Barrow, I take great pride in being a part of such an important development and I can personally attest to the difference that this significant investment will make to the careers of local people.”
