Old Daewoos have had some serious abuse

Michael Bullock has been experiencing it all down under in Australia, lots of brand new kit to play on, and at the other end of the scale some old girls too.

Michael has recently spent some time on an old Daewoo 255LCV Solar which has over 9000 hours on the meter. There are two of these 25 ton machines working on site, and Michael reports that they are in a pretty bad state, both cosmetically and mechanically, as you can see from the photo both machines have been victims of graffiti from the local aerosol warriors, plus many dents and scratches from previous “operators”.

The machine Michael was operating even had a snapped right hand joystick, which had been temporarily strapped up with black insulation tape, which I can only imagine would become horribly sticky during the day with heat build up from sweaty palms, and hot oil from the servo controls inside the cab. This, according to Michael, made it very difficult to grade sand with, a situation made all the more worse by the fact that the seat was stuck in a slightly reclined position and the arm rests were missing leaving Michael nowhere to rest his elbows for a steady operation.
