Job Description

Company Overview: Our North Nottinghamshire pre-cast client requires an estimator on a permanent basis. The client is a leading manufacturer of architectural and structural precast concrete products for the housing, civils, rail, landscaping, utilities, offshore and flood defence sectors. As our client continues to grow, they are recruiting for a skilled Estimator to join their team.

Role Summary: As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in their project planning and cost estimation process. You'll work closely with their sales and production teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids for precast concrete projects. Your attention to detail, technical knowledge, and ability to analyse bid documents will be essential.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:

Bid Analysis:

• Analyse bid documents and understand project requirements.
• Record precast concrete material types and quantities.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates based on company standards and guidelines.

Proposal Preparation:

• Write proposal notes and qualifications that are job-specific.
• Collaborate with salesmen to submit cost estimates for bidding before scheduled due time.

Technical Solutions:

• Assist customers by providing technical solutions related to precast concrete products.
• Generate drawings and handle customer inquiries.

Order Facilitation:

• Facilitate orders through the production and delivery process.
• Work accurately and quickly under pressure due to time restraints associated with the position.

Experience Required of the Estimator:

• Background: Previous experience within the precast concrete industry is desirable.
• Mathematical and Technical Skills: Strong mathematical and technical background.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously analyse bid documents and project requirements.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Location of the Estimator role:

The estimator will be based on our Client's North Nottinghamshire Manufacturing unit.
