Job Description
Special Projects Contract Manager - Social Housing
Location: London
Contract: 6 months initially, with potential extension to 12 months
Rate: Up to £500 per day Umbrella
We are recruiting for an experienced
Special Projects Contracts Manager to join a leading social housing organisation, managing high-risk fire safety and External Wall System (EWS) contracts across a large residential portfolio.
This is a key role requiring someone with strong social housing experience and demonstrable, hands-on expertise in the
end-to-end procurement and management of fire safety and building safety contracts.
The successful candidate must be confident leading the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying requirements and developing specifications through to tender preparation, supplier engagement, tender evaluation, contract award and subsequent contract mobilisation and management.
Key Requirements
Strong experience working within the social housing sector.
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, ideally managing complex, high-value or high-risk programmes.
Demonstrable experience undertaking end-to-end procurement of fire safety contracts within social housing, including developing scopes of work and specifications, preparing tender documentation, managing tender processes, evaluating submissions, negotiating terms and overseeing contract awards.
Experience procuring and managing fire safety contracts, including fire remediation, fire compartmentation, fire doors, fire stopping and wider building safety works.
Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and contract management.
Experience managing contractors throughout the full contract lifecycle, ensuring delivery against contractual, commercial, quality and compliance requirements.
Strong contractor, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge and understanding of External Wall Systems (EWS), FRAEWs, Fire Risk Assessments and PAS 9980.
Experience with remediation funding schemes, such as the Cladding Safety Scheme, would be desirable.
The ideal candidate must have personally led or played a significant hands-on role in procuring fire safety contracts from inception through to contract award, rather than simply overseeing contracts once they have been appointed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Social Housing Contracts Manager to take ownership of a high-profile, safety-critical programme, ensuring the successful procurement and delivery of essential fire and building safety works across a large residential portfolio.
Up to £500 per day Umbrella | 6 months initially | Potential extension
