Senior Building Surveyor
Bristol | Hybrid Working | Up to £65,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
Take the lead. Work on great projects. Build something bigger.
If you're an experienced Building Surveyor ready for more autonomy, greater client exposure and the opportunity to make a real impact, this could be your next move.
We're working with an established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with a strong presence across the UK.
Their Bristol team is growing, and they're looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to play a key role in delivering a varied pipeline of work while helping shape the continued success of the office.
You'll have the opportunity to work across an impressive mix of sectors, including commercial, education, residential, emergency services and defence, with projects ranging from planned maintenance and defect investigations through to major refurbishment and capital improvement programmes.
The role
This is a genuinely varied position where you'll combine technical building surveying with project leadership and client management.
You'll take ownership of projects from initial instruction through to completion, while becoming a trusted point of contact for a diverse client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading refurbishment, repair and improvement projects across a varied property portfolio.
- Delivering professional surveying services including condition surveys, TDD, defect diagnosis and planned maintenance advice.
- Producing specifications, schedules of work, tender documentation and technical reports.
- Acting as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent on relevant projects.
- Building strong, long-term client relationships and providing commercially focused technical advice.
- Working collaboratively with wider teams and other disciplines to deliver successful projects.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team, helping develop the next generation of surveyors.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally be an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong consultancy or client-side background, comfortable managing projects, working directly with clients and taking ownership of your workload.
We're looking for:
- A degree in Building Surveying or a related RICS-accredited qualification.
- MRICS status, or actively working towards chartership.
- Strong experience across professional and project-based building surveying.
- Good knowledge of contract administration and project delivery.
- Excellent communication, technical reporting and client management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
- A collaborative mindset with an interest in supporting and mentoring colleagues.
What's on offer?
This is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy where you'll have the scope, support and autonomy to progress your career.
You'll receive:
- Up to £65,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- A diverse portfolio of interesting, high-quality projects.
- Full support for professional development and long-term career progression.
- A collaborative and supportive working environment.
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact as the Bristol team continues to grow.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
