Senior EIA Consultant - Urban Regeneration

Are you an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) professional looking to play a pivotal role in some of the UK's most transformative urban regeneration projects?

We are seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to join a leading environmental and planning consultancy, supporting the delivery of high-profile mixed-use, residential, commercial, brownfield redevelopment, and strategic regeneration schemes across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious consultant to lead environmental assessments, manage multidisciplinary project teams, and help clients unlock complex development opportunities while delivering sustainable outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will:

• Lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments for urban regeneration and redevelopment projects.
• Manage EIA projects from screening and scoping through to Environmental Statement preparation and submission.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, including planning, ecology, air quality, noise, transport, heritage, landscape, and socio-economic specialists.
• Act as a key client contact, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Support planning applications and environmental consenting strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants.
• Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies throughout project lifecycles.
• Contribute to business development activities, bids, and framework opportunities.

About You

You will possess:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Management, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering EIAs within a consultancy environment.
• Demonstrable experience working on urban regeneration, brownfield redevelopment, mixed-use, residential and/or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of UK EIA Regulations and planning processes.
• Proven project management capabilities, including programme, budget, and client management.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Membership of a relevant professional body such as IEMA, CIWEM, or equivalent.

Desirable

• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Experience acting as EIA Project Manager on large-scale regeneration schemes.
• Knowledge of sustainability, ESG, or environmental planning strategies.
• Experience supporting public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
